About the position

Raimi + Associates (R+A) is seeking a Senior Planner to join their multidisciplinary team in either Berkeley or Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in urban planning and will be responsible for managing a variety of projects that include comprehensive plans, area/neighborhood plans, community visioning, zoning codes, and other policy and regulatory documents. This role requires a strong understanding of long-range planning processes, including research, writing policy documents, project management, and conducting community engagement activities. The Senior Planner will work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure that projects meet community needs and align with the firm’s mission of creating sustainable, healthy, and equitable communities. The position involves collaborating with a team of planners and designers to develop innovative solutions to complex planning challenges. The Senior Planner will be expected to lead project teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the firm’s overall strategic goals. A strong background in various planning topics such as land use, community design, climate change adaptation, mobility planning, environmental justice, and parks and open space is essential. Familiarity with software tools commonly used in planning, such as Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS, is also required. Knowledge of local land use planning law in California is a plus, although not mandatory.
