Job Description
Climate Policy Radar is seeking a Senior Partnerships Manager in Cape Town, South Africa, to develop and manage strategic collaborations within the climate policy ecosystem. The role involves building relationships, coordinating projects, and contributing to communications. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the climate space and a strong network. The organization values employee wellbeing and offers a flexible, hybrid work approach, including a 4-day workweek.
Climate Policy Radar is on a mission to help people access and understand long climate documents. Nearly 350,000 users from over 100 countries already use our open databases and AI-based research tools to search through 500,000+ pages of climate documents from around the world.
We care deeply about creating trustworthy tools that have a real impact on climate decisions. Our exciting, impactful work is right at the cutting edge of AI, and at the epicentre of global climate action. In 2025, we are bringing in and structuring even more climate documents, improving our search and synthesis functionality, and making it easier for people to make sense of the evidence they need for better, faster climate decisions.
We are a not-for-profit startup, with a team of ~30 technologists, and climate policy experts who care a lot about the ‘how’ (our values and culture) as well as the ‘what’. As part of that, we have embraced a flexible, hybrid approach to work, including a 4 day workweek.
We are looking for a Senior Partnerships Manager to shape, coordinate, and sustain strategic collaborations across the climate policy ecosystem. This role is not just about managing relationships but about fostering networks of influence, aligning thematic areas of work, and catalysing opportunities for impact.
As a trusted member of the team your core mission includes:
• Develop and hold trusted relationships with policy and climate partners- including with other NGOs, research organizations and customers;
• Coordinate and manage partner-specific projects and collaborations;
• Manage CPR’s partnership and relationship processes and database - including evaluation of impact and opportunity;
• Contribute to CPR’s communications plan, bringing in impact stories and highlighting partner work where appropriate;
• Represent CPR at external conferences, workshops and events - delivering demos, trainings and presentations;
• Regularly meet with partners and allies in London and the area, with flexibility for occasional travel further afield;
• Work as a core member of an interdisciplinary team to continually iterate and improve CPRs products - acting as a bridge between CPR and the wider climate community, ensuring our tools and products evolve in line with emerging needs and challenges;
• And keep abreast with the latest developments in the climate and broader environmental policy space to support horizon scanning, understand strategic opportunities and educate other CPR colleagues.
• You have at least 5 years working in the climate space with your own established network of contacts and relationships.
• You have a track record of success in leading significant partnerships and relationships on behalf of your organization or team.
• You are highly organized, high-performing and proactive.
• You are a team player: Our ideal candidate will be a trusted collaborator and will be excited about working in a startup/scaleup environment and all that brings.
We are a mission driven organisation, and work best with people who have strong alignment with our values. We care about them deeply.
• Salary ranging from £53,000- £60,000 depending on experience
• A deep commitment to employee wellbeing, including policies such as 4 day workweek (same pay, Fridays off), generous leave, and a wellbeing allowance
• A vibrant, collaborative, empathetic work culture that thrives on innovation and the impact of our work
• Our hybrid work model encourages collaboration while providing flexibility. For team members in London, we aim for two days a week in our County Hall office, which offers a dynamic environment and spectacular views of the Thames.
We know that applying for a new job can be full of uncertainties - and we aim to reduce those by communicating clearly. Our process is made of several stages (see below). After each stage, we’ll contact you as soon as we can and no longer than 2 working days, to let you know if you will be progressing to the next stage.
We are committed to making our recruitment process inclusive and accessible. If you require any accommodations due to a disability or specific need, please contact us. We also ensure all applicants are assessed fairly through structured interviews and diverse hiring panels
Process:
• Submission of a short questionnaire, cover letter and CV
• 30-45 minutes screening call with our Head of People and a member of our policy team
• 60 minute interview with our Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer and members of the policy team. We may ask you to complete a short task.
• 30 minute in-person final fit interview with our CEO/Founder and one other member of the team and an opportunity to (informally) meet with the rest of the team over coffee/tea
• Offer subject to references
