Job Description

Verterra Energy is seeking a Senior Ocean Engineer in New Brighton, MN, to lead marine functions for their innovative hydropower technology. The role requires a BS in a relevant engineering field and 7+ years of experience with marine systems. Responsibilities include managing a mechanical engineering team and overseeing the development of mechanical and marine systems. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a flexible work environment.
At Verterra Energy, we're on a mission to harness the power in the world's rivers, canals and oceans. To accomplish this, we are commercializing our first device called VOLTURNUS, a pioneering water-power technology that deploys in harmony with the current to capture baseload, zero emission electricity.

Backed by top-tier investors and a multi-year government contract, we are growing our founding team to help achieve key milestones. We have also recently partnered with NIRON, DoD, DoE, University of Minnesota, WEG Group, Beckhoff, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the US Army Corp of Engineers!

We're seeking an Ocean Engineer to help lead our marine function. The ideal candidate has a background with ocean, or marine engineering and the ability to handle both hands on engineering work while leading a small team of mechanical engineers. This is a highly important and visible role that will lead the development of technologies that will be used in the deployment, operation and retrieval of our modular hydropower technology, and peripheral systems.
