Job Description

TreePeople is seeking a Senior Manager of Environmental Education and Outdoor Equity in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves managing program managers, developing educational materials, overseeing budgets, and enhancing outreach efforts. Candidates should have a strong background in environmental education, staff supervision, and project management, with a Master's degree required. The position is full-time and requires visiting school sites across Los Angeles County.
About the position

Responsibilities
• Manage, supervise, and evaluate EE/OE Program Managers to ensure compliance with the Employee Handbook, contract deliverables, department standards and policies, and other job duties and responsibilities.
• Develop, update, and implement EE/OE programming in accordance with the TreePeople brand, departmental vision, and CA State Standards.
• Manage the development of all education program materials (e.g., toolkits, project guides, slides, activities, flyers, tour scripts, etc.).
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive outreach plan that supports equitable programmatic distribution across TreePeople and funder priority regions.
• Create and lead comprehensive training programs for EE/OE team members.
• Support the development of annual budgets for various projects/grants and oversee spending throughout the course of TreePeople's fiscal year to ensure it is in accordance with the annual budget.
• Provide leadership in the development of project status reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and contract compliance.
• Work closely with the Director of Environmental Education and the Director of Environmental Education Strategy and Partnerships to enhance EE/OE programs.
• Support the strengthening of relationships with funders and strategic partners by providing high-level coordination.
• Enhance team efficiency by leading the onboarding process and managing operational systems.
• Participate and represent TreePeople at meetings, fundraising, marketing, membership and volunteer events.
• Maintain partnerships with local community-based organizations, school districts, and other community stakeholders.
• Present and facilitate information sharing in front of public audiences.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Strong foundation of environmental education concepts and best practices, including the Next Generation Science Standards.
• Demonstrated experience with staff supervision, project management, and working with schools and/or school districts on environmental projects.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Master's-level education required.
• High computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Salesforce, Asana, and other internet-based programs.
• Organized, strong work ethic, friendly, intelligent, proactive, and a quick learner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills: engaging, listening, negotiating, public speaking, and writing.
• Proven understanding of local ecological systems and awareness of current environmental issues impacting diverse communities throughout Southern California.
• Experience working with partner organizations and public agencies in Los Angeles.
• Knowledge of the Los Angeles County structure is preferred.
• The ability and willingness to visit school sites across L.A. County and communicate with school district personnel, administrators, educators, and youth.

Benefits
• Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually
