Sysco is hiring a Senior Manager for Sustainability Global Program and Reporting in Houston, TX. This full-time, hybrid role involves managing ESG reporting, data analysis, and emissions tracking to support sustainability goals. Hybrid Role: In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Work from home on Thursday and Friday.
Job Summary:
This role is a key member of the Sustainability team and is responsible for managing reporting across all required and optional frameworks; and will lead a wide range of data gathering, analysis, disclosure preparation and support for all aspects of Sysco’s sustainability and corporate governance programs. This person will also play a critical role in monitoring the collection and submission of emissions data to assist the company in obtaining its climate reduction goals as well as among distilling internal and external data into well thought out summary information that supports decision making for all of Sysco’s sustainability leaders. This position will also determine resource needs and build a team structure to support global reporting requirements including regulatory annual disclosures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with Reporting & Disclosures team, leads the company’s global ESG disclosure initiatives including working with a cross-functional team to collect, organize and analyze data for the annual sustainability reports, SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD and overall emissions tracking to show progress against the companies SBTi goals.
• Monitors global regulations related to sustainability topics, develops and leads strategies to drive policy development and business value by getting ahead of new regulations while tracking progress against ESG global goals and metrics .
• Develop and maintain internal control processes to assure metrics and data in ESG disclosures
• Coordinate the Company’s responses to investor, customer and other stakeholder requests for ESG information.

• Serve as a thought leader on emerging trends and best practices to ensure the company is delivering best in class reporting
• Assist with other corporate governance and compliance matters
• Provide regular updates on progress to leadership and sustainability teams, escalate roadblocks and provide potential solutions
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agriculture, related fields
Experience Required:
Four (4) or more years of business experience
Experience with global ESG/sustainability reporting and disclosure, including knowledge of current tools and trends; policy positions of proxy advisory firms, ESG raters and rating agencies; and requirements of SASB, TCFD and other reporting frameworks and standards
Experience Preferred:
Food industry experience preferred – manufacturing, retail or distribution
Knowledge of issues relevant to the food industry particularly in the areas of carbon emissions, responsible sourcing and supply chain
Technical Skills and Abilities:
• Data management experience, using a variety of tools for data management.
• Strong project management skills, with an eye for detail and meeting time-sensitive targets; highly productive, getting plans on paper, tracking of milestones, owning meetings, learning new systems and reporting mechanisms; highly motivated and willing to pivot
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to communicate both up and down organizational levels and simplify complicated information to non-technical listeners
• Strong Microsoft Office suite experience including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Curious to learn about new regulations, requirements and sustainability reporting standards.
• Passionate about sustainability and how companies can positively affect the environment and society.
• Ability to collaborate and build alignment and influence among a broad group of internal stakeholders; strong business acumen and ability to translate theory to action.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality deliverables to tight deadlines
• Excellent IT skills.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to take people with you and bring the best out of others
