Job Description
Marriott Vacations Worldwide is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement - Sustainable Procurement in Orlando, FL. This role involves developing and executing sustainable procurement strategies, promoting supplier diversity, ensuring ethical supply chain practices, and managing Scope 3 GHG emissions. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to enhance sustainability initiatives and contribute to corporate responsibility goals, requiring a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sr. Manager, Sustainable Procurement to lead the development and execution of our sustainable procurement strategy. Reporting to the AVP, Procurement Strategy & Analytics, this role will drive sustainability initiatives, promote supplier diversity, ensure ethical supply chain practices, and implement programs to address tier 1 and tier 2 Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The successful candidate will collaborate with our Corporate Responsibility team as well as functions across the organization to increase awareness and adoption of these programs, contributing to the company’s overarching Corporate Responsibility goals.
Expected Contributions
Procurement Strategy Development and Implementation
• Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the organization’s Corporate Responsibility goals.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance sustainability, ethical practices, and supplier diversity within the supply chain.
• Monitor and report on progress toward our Corporate Responsibility targets, including Scope 3 GHG emissions reductions.
Sustainable Procurement
• Establish criteria and processes to source sustainable products and services.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation and sustainable practices.
• Evaluate and mitigate the environmental impact of procurement activities.
Supplier Diversity
• Design and implement programs to increase supplier diversity.
• Build partnerships with underrepresented and local suppliers to support economic inclusion.
• Track and report metrics related to supplier diversity performance.
Ethical Supply Chain Management
• Ensure compliance with ethical labor standards and human rights practices throughout the supply chain.
• Conduct regular supplier assessments and audits to monitor adherence to our Corporate Responsibility principles.
• Manage risk related to ethical supply chain issues, including anti-corruption and fair labor practices.
Scope 3 GHG Emissions Management
• Develop strategies to measure, manage, and reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions within the supply chain.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to integrate climate goals into procurement processes.
• Engage suppliers to align with carbon reduction initiatives and ensure data transparency.
Stakeholder Engagement and Training
• Collaborate with internal departments to drive awareness and adoption of sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives.
• Provide training and resources to procurement teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with our Corporate Responsibility objectives.
• Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for sustainable procurement practices.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sustainability roles, with a focus on ESG initiatives.
• Experience with sustainability and supplier diversity platforms such as EcoVadis and Supplier.io
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of procurement principles including sustainability, supplier diversity, ethical practices, and Scope 3 GHG emissions.
• Experience with procurement policies, vendor management, and supply chain sustainability frameworks.
• Data-driven approach to tracking and reporting sustainability, supplier diversity, and Scope 3 metrics.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, GRI, CDP, or equivalent).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Progress toward sustainability and Scope 3 emissions reduction targets.
• Percentage increase in diverse supplier participation.
• Supplier compliance with ethical supply chain standards.
• Adoption and integration of Corporate Responsibility programs within the business.
