Job Description
SMEC is hiring a Senior Manager, Finance Transformation & Strategy to lead finance transformation initiatives within their global finance team. The role involves developing and implementing a finance transformation strategy, managing multiple projects, and improving finance processes. Candidates should have over 15 years of experience, preferably from the Big Four or engineering consultancies, and possess strong project management and communication skills. The position offers a hybrid work environment.

The Role
We are seeking to engage a Senior Manager, Finance Transformation & Strategy to join our Global finance team in either our Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney office. The Senior Manager will spearhead the Surbana Jurong (SJ)/SMEC organisation in developing a finance transformation strategy and blueprint; and execute an end-to-end implementation for the next generation ERP system. Key Responsibilities include:
• Identify, scope and deliver finance transformation, harmonisation, organisation re-design and change initiatives for the global operations across the group/ business units
• Deliver Finance transformation and change management addressing evolving business needs on insight, efficiency and effectiveness, and control
• Partner the Finance Process Owners to develop best-in-class Finance processes and next-generation ERP implementation to drive overall efficiency and business performance
• Identify initiatives to transform / improve Finance and operational processes (such as but not limited to Chart of Accounts; Financial Closing & Consolidation; Profitability & Cost Management; Management Reporting and Business Analytics)
• Support the implementation of relevant technology platform such as SAP on a large-scale multi-site ERP Implementation
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and deliver high quality and timely results
• Act as a catalyst between the business and Group Finance so there is synchronized thinking and an understanding of information requirements, challenges and priorities
About You
• 15+ years’ experience, preferably within the Big Four or an engineering/construction consultancy
• Must have led major finance transformation and experience in change management and alignment of stakeholders
• Able to extract data from disparate sources, manipulate data and perform analyses using advanced techniques
• Able to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature
• Good time management skills with the ability to plan workloads and meet deadlines
• Able to effectively work across a variety of projects learning new skills and knowledge quickly and efficiently
• Project management skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Familiar with SAP and D365
• The incumbent will role model the SJ Group values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles
