Banyan Nation is seeking a Senior Manager – Sustainability & Compliance in Hyderabad, India. This full-time role involves driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance across the supply chain. Job Overview

We are looking for an ambitious, data driven and result oriented Senior Manager with a proven track record to drive Sustainability & Compliance across the company’s end to end supply chain. This role will lead Banyan Nation’s efforts to achieve and maintain high standards of environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance. This role will focus on implementing sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, reducing the carbon footprint, obtaining relevant certifications, and ensuring alignment with the Company’s vision to build India’s first ethically sourced and responsibly recycled circular value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure Banyan Nation complies with all relevant environmental regulations and standards at local, national, and international levels.
• Oversee the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and address any compliance issues promptly.

2. Sustainability Initiatives
• Develop and implement new sustainability initiatives across the supply chain to improve environmental performance and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into procurement, logistics, and production processes.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

3. Carbon Footprint Reduction
• Lead efforts to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of Banyan Nation’s supply chain operations.
• Identify and implement strategies to lower greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency, process optimization, and renewable energy sources.
• Track progress towards carbon reduction goals and report on achievements and challenges.

4. Certifications
• Obtain and maintain relevant industry certifications SMETA, SEDEX, ISCC 3, etc. for Banyan Nation’s processes and operations.
• Ensure that certification requirements are met and work with external auditors and certifying bodies as needed.
• Promote the value of certifications and their impact on the company’s sustainability reputation

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or compliance roles, preferably within the recycling or waste management sectors. At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and certification processes.
• Proven ability to lead sustainability projects and ensure regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with industry-specific sustainability certifications (e.g., ISO 14001 EMS, GRS, SMM, ISO 9001, SA8000).
• Knowledge of carbon footprint reduction strategies and technologies
• Familiarity with corporate governance, environmental compliance, and supply chain sustainability.
• Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
