Senior Hydrologist

AboitizPower is seeking a Senior Hydrologist in the Philippines. The role involves developing sustainable water resource management strategies, inflow forecasting, and managing hydrology-related projects. Candidates should have a relevant Bachelor's degree, at least 8 years of experience in hydrology or water resources engineering, and strong analytical and communication skills. The position is full-time and based in Beckel, La Trinidad.
The Senior Hydrologist will be responsible in providing sustainable water resources management strategies and decisions with prioritization in inflow forecasting and water management, to different users with varying needs as key requirement for decision making and revenue optimization. He/she will develop and execute methodologies, processes, tools, and systems for hydrologic and weather forecasting, provide assessment of watershed, hydrology, weather and climate-related issues and to effectively manage water resources engineering projects and staff related to the project.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in hydrology, water resources engineering, civil engineering, hydro informatics, geophysics, physical geography, hydrometeorology, or related subject. Preferably with post graduate related studies.
• With at least Eight (8) years experience in hydrology, water resources engineering and management of hydro power plants or any related water disciplines.
• Excellent hydrologic and hydraulic modelling skills.
• Knowledge/experience in operational hydrology, water resources engineering, hydropower plant operations and development.
• Background in hydrometeorological data measurement, gathering and management
• Vast knowledge in water resources system and related laws of the Philippines
• Highly IT fluent and good computational programming skills
• Excellent knowledge of statistics and mathematics (modeling)
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to present complex matters to wider audiences in the company and to external institutions and stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High analytical skills with advanced comprehension abilities
• Physically fit for field hydrology works.
