Your Career
Palo Alto Networks presents a compelling opportunity to join our Corporate Responsibility team as a Senior GHG Accounting Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will lead the management of our greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and play a key part in driving our sustainability strategy through accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
This role is based in our HQ located in Santa Clara, CA, requiring three days per week in-office attendance.
Your Impact
Your contributions will be vital in understanding and reporting Palo Alto Networks' environmental impact. Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting the global greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze data, and calculating emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
• Implementing quality assurance and control measures, performing uncertainty analysis to ensure robust inventory protocols.
• Preparing regional GHG inventories or datasets for regulatory reports.
• Working with the SOX team to establish processes that verify the accuracy and completeness of GHG inventories and emissions-related reports.
• Supporting third-party assurance of GHG data.
• Documenting the GHG inventory management process, outlining data sources and collection methods.
• Monitoring progress towards science-based targets, net-zero goals, and other environmental commitments.
• Coordinating technical responses for annual questionnaires, such as CDP, encompassing emissions, energy, and supply chain sections.
• Serving as the tool administrator for PANW's GHG calculations tool, optimizing it for reporting and forecasting purposes.
Your Experience
We are seeking candidates with:
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of climate science, carbon accounting, or a related environmental field.
• Experience in conducting GHG inventories, preferably within technology companies (hardware and software).
• Familiarity with third-party reviews of GHG inventories.
• Strong understanding of sustainability principles and GHG accounting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).
• Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
• Adaptability to fast-moving, dynamic work environments while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders globally.
• Proficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with carbon management software solutions is a plus.

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation for this position will be based on qualifications and experience. The starting base salary is expected to range from $99,000 to $159,500 per year, and may include restricted stock units and bonuses.
