Job Description

Squadron Energy is seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Reporting in Sydney, Australia. This role involves overseeing financial operations for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting, and leading a finance team. Key responsibilities include managing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and conducting financial analysis. The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Finance Manager - Reporting is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial management.

This role involves leading a team of finance professionals, managing monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:
• Actively oversee the half-year and year-end reporting process to meet external and internal financial reporting requirements while driving excellence and accuracy.
• Direct the review of detailed external reporting packs provided in half-year and year-end reporting.
• Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting reporting processes, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project financial performance and reporting requirements.

About you

You will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for renewable energy.

Skills & Experience:

You will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• CA/CPA qualified
• Experience with financial software and ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills for data analysis
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing talent and fostering collaboration.
• A current Australian driver’s licence
