The position involves supporting environmental assessment and remediation projects, managing staff, conducting research, and interacting with clients. Candidates should have a BS or MS in a relevant field and 5-10 years of experience in environmental projects, particularly with military clients.

ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist who will work alongside Senior Scientists, Project Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects. They will contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic plan for our environmental compliance, conservation, and planning programs. Responsibilities include providing technical support for environmental investigations, client interaction, environmental reporting, site characterization, activity analysis, studies, subcontractor oversight, work plans, monitoring, and tracking project metrics and overseeing deliverable schedules, providing technical review, and applying quality assurance and quality control checks, maintaining and updating environmental databases, data analysis, and programmatic data queries, and the development and execution of automated production workflows.
Job Functions:
• Supports environmental investigation and planning projects with planning, oversight, and analysis.
• Manages environmental staff and associated project task work.
• Conducts research and writes and reviews environmental technical reports and evaluations, studies, work plans, and Course of Action (COA) development.
• Coordinate directly with the Client to manage environmental project tasks.
• Develop technical fact sheets, briefings, and programmatic status reports.
• Supports environmental impact analyses and develops written assessments of potential impacts, mitigation strategies, and comprehensive characterization of alternate courses of action with respect to applicable laws and regulations.
• Write and review reports for assessing functional and technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory guidance.
• Develop visual, graphical, and tabular summaries of environmental data and trend analysis.
• Prepares cost estimates and proposals.
• Coordinates work schedules with subcontractors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• BS or MS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field, and 5-10 years of experience working as an environmental professional on Air Force, Air National Guard, or DoD projects.
• 5-10 years of professional experience with federal and state environmental regulatory programs, and Air Force Environmental Impact Analysis Processes.
• Experience with environmental investigations, overseeing environmental fieldwork, and reviewing reports developed by other contractors.
• Environmental compliance experience with expertise in one or more specialties.
• Demonstrated experience with various media and technical reports
• Experience working for Department of Defense clients including Air Force
• Experience compiling, analyzing, and reporting on environmental data from a variety of sources including investigation reports, field observation, environmental sampling results, tabular data, databases, and other existing reports and figures
• Ability to identify, develop, and evaluate solutions to complex regulatory issues
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
• Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments on schedule and meet clients' service expectations and requirements
• Self-initiative and motivation with an emphasis on client service while cultivating a career in environmental consulting
• Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and interacting with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
• Must possess a government-issued Common Access Card (CAC) or qualify to pass a background check to obtain a CAC.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and short deadlines.
