The role involves overseeing project execution, developing client relationships, and mentoring staff. We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist/Planner 3 to grow our environmental permitting and compliance practice with existing and new energy clients nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and work on a broad range of energy projects including electric generation (thermal, renewable, and advanced nuclear), battery storage, gas operations, and electric transmission and distribution. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Bedford, NH, Rocky Hill, CT, Annapolis, MD, Ann Arbor, MI, Parsippany, NJ, Princeton, NJ, New York City, NY, Rochester, NY, Cary, NC, Cincinnati, OH, Independence, OH, Miamisburg, OH, Holicong, PA, Bethlehem, PA, Greenville, SC, Vienna, VA, or Midlothian, VA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
• Play a key role in supporting, developing, and growing Haley & Aldrich’s portfolio of environmental consulting services for energy projects nationwide, with a primary focus on environmental permitting and compliance.
• Oversee execution of all phases of a project to meet our client’s objectives, as well as company goals for revenue generation and profitability. Travel is expected to support project needs.
• Work under the supervision of senior staff to implement growth strategies and initiatives, develop client relationships, enhance Haley & Aldrich’s reputation, and generate new business opportunities that result in revenue growth with new and existing clients.
• Demonstrate strong technical competence in services required by our clients.
• Mentor and guide staff in the execution of project work and production of deliverables, serving as a mentor and collaborative leader.
• Contribute to the leadership, management, and implementation of efforts in support of our clients’ projects. Lead consulting engagements as a “seller-doer.”
• Contribute to strategic direction and oversight of broad areas of services provided on behalf of clients, whether provided in-house or with external resources.
• Maintain authorized contracts and work with Project Managers to deliver the full life cycle of services in a profitable manner, from opportunity development through payment for service.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
• B.S. or M.S. degree in environmental science, planning, engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience, with specific experience in environmental permitting and compliance, with demonstrated client contacts within the energy market.
• Understanding of energy markets and ability to broadly understand energy project needs and context for client challenges and opportunities, to cross-sell multiple services Haley & Aldrich can provide in other areas, and to direct contractors when appropriate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain complex issues to a wide range of audiences.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer literacy.

The salary range for this position in New York State is $115,000 - $165,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
