Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist in Centurion, South Africa, to work on contaminated land and remediation projects in collaboration with US and Canadian teams. Responsibilities include developing environmental outputs, analyzing geochemical data, and preparing technical reports. Required qualifications include a relevant degree, experience in environmental assessments, strong communication skills, and proficiency in GIS. The role emphasizes teamwork and accountability in a virtual environment.
With our project pipeline continuing to expand we are seeking intermediate to senior environmental scientists experienced in environmental chemistry contaminated land and remediation. Your role as environmental scientist will include working closely with our US and Canadian teams on large contaminated land and remediation programmes while based in South Africa to:
Develop environmental outputs through various stages of the project.
Analyse geochemical data to determine the extent and type of contamination.
Prepare detailed reports on site conditions contamination levels and remediation efforts.
Prepare and review technical reports and other project documentation ensuring clarity accuracy and consistency.
Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment as an experienced Environmental Scientist.
What are we looking for from you
A relevant university degree in environmental science geology hydrogeology chemistry or environmental engineering.
Proven experience in environmental site assessments environmental reporting remediation and compliance with environmental regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
Proficiency in using GIS and other environmental assessment tools.
Being able to work well in a virtual environment.
Contributing to the team and taking accountability.
