Are you a highly skilled Senior Risk Assessor with 15 years of experience ready to take on a new and rewarding challenge? We have an incredible opportunity for you to join our dynamic team! You’ll play a key role in solving complex issues for our clients across Alberta and British Columbia while working alongside a passionate, multi-disciplinary team that tackles some of the most exciting projects in the industry.

This position is based in our South Office in Calgary and will be reporting directly to our Chief Technical Officer. As a Senior Risk Assessor, you'll be empowered to lead projects and contribute your expertise in risk assessment, toxicology, and environmental sciences to deliver impactful solutions.

Make a Difference
• Lead and support risk assessments on Contaminated Site Assessments and Remediation projects, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.
• Manage and oversee risk assessment tasks from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, resourcing, reporting, and budget tracking, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope.
• Conduct human health and ecological risk assessments, analyzing exposure to soil, surface water, groundwater, and air for various chemicals.
• Prepare reports and critical analyses to assess risks and environmental impacts.
• Conduct in-depth literature reviews on environmental chemistry, public health, and other key areas to inform your work.
• Contribute to environmental assessments and planning, from baseline investigations to detailed site assessments.
• Develop and implement field programs for sample collection and chemical analysis.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior team members, fostering growth and development within the team.
• Cultivate relationships with regulatory representatives to drive successful outcomes and guideline modifications.
• Collaborate with project managers to streamline workflows, ensuring a cohesive and effective project team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Lead the development and implementation of best practices, procedures, and quality assurance measures to maintain the highest standards.

Showcase your Talents & Achievements
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Toxicology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant association (e.g., APEGA, ASPB, ACPA, AIA), or eligibility for registration.
• 15+ years of relevant experience with a passion for environmental risk assessment.
• Expertise in human health and ecological risk assessments with strong field experience.
• In-depth knowledge of provincial standards (e.g., AEPA, AER) and federal guidelines (CCME) for risk assessments.
• Strong data evaluation skills, including statistical analysis, with an eye for quality and detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to integrate multi-disciplinary information into clear, compelling reports.
• A strong team player who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and sharing knowledge.
• Good sense of humour and a strong admiration of all things Swayze (Patrick) is an asset.
