Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to oversee large-scale remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam. The role involves managing a team of up to 10, handling project phases from initiation to closeout, and providing technical guidance. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years of experience. The position is remote, with the candidate expected to travel occasionally.
About the position

AECOM has an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager to support our Environmental Remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam. This position will be based in Honolulu, specifically focusing on multiple large-scale remediation projects in these regions. The successful candidate will manage a team of up to 10 persons, including subcontractors, and will be responsible for overseeing projects with budgets of $3 million or greater. This includes managing Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions primarily for the Federal sector. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science, along with a proven track record in environmental investigation and remediation projects. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will handle one or more moderately complex projects, which may involve clients with a regional geographic footprint, projects that require multiple services from regional offices, or other complexities such as litigation and environmental protection. The manager will oversee all phases of projects from initiation to closeout, working mostly independently while receiving basic instructions on specific assignments and objectives. They will also receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and will be responsible for supervising senior-level professionals across various disciplines, as well as project administration, controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives.

Responsibilities
• Manage multiple large-scale environmental remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam.

• Oversee a team of up to 10 persons, including subcontractors.

• Handle all phases of projects from beginning to closeout.

• Work independently with basic instructions on specific assignments and objectives.

• Provide technical guidance on complex problems and obtain supervisory approval on project plans.

• Supervise senior-level professionals and project administration representatives.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
,
• 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
,
• US Citizenship for access to DoD project sites.
,
• Ability to obtain a DBIDs pass for federal military installation access.
,
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.

• Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

• Experience with CERCLA and environmental science principles.
,
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Professional registration.
,
• Experience using Microsoft Office and preparing technical reports.

• Knowledge of local environmental regulations in Hawaii.

• Extensive DOD and CLEAN experience in Hawaii and Guam.

• Proven project estimating experience.
