The Senior Environmental Planner performs a variety of analytical and team lead tasks. The Senior Environmental Planner serves in a lead capacity over an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists that conduct environmental analyses for energy facility licensing, exemption and compliance, electric generation resource planning, electric transmission corridor planning, energy conservation, energy technology development, and energy policy and planning. The Senior Environmental Planner acts as a consultant performing the most difficult and complex work essential to programs of statewide significance, and advises on procedural, legislative, and technical matters.
Desirable Qualifications
1) Ability to work well as part of a team and perform independent tasks that contribute towards shared goals.
2) Ability to effectively write and edit technical information.
3) Ability to track progress and apply project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
4) Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
5) Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with experience interfacing with internal staff, external stakeholders, and agencies.
6) Knowledge and experience working with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) or conducting environmental reviews for complex projects.
