SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Senior Environmental Inspector for a short-term project in Scarborough, ME. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations for solar construction activities and requires 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting. Responsibilities include supervising BMP installation and working in remote areas. The position offers a pay rate of $28.00-$42.00/hr based on experience and qualifications.

What you will accomplish
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for solar related construction activities.
• Project work may include Federal land management, oil and gas development, transportation, water resources, renewable energy, transmission/pipelines, mining, habitat restoration, wildfire monitoring, and watershed studies.
• Supervise installation and maintenance of BMPs, erosion control devices (ECDs), and environmental exclusion areas during construction.
• Use topographic maps, GPS units, aerial photographs, and other maps and tools in the field.
Experience and qualifications for success
• Three to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting inspection of oil and gas/pipeline projects required.
• Able to inspect transmission line and solar related facilities.
• Familiar with soil erosion control and BMP installation and maintenance.
• Able to work in remote areas, use ATVs or other four-wheel drive type vehicles.
• Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check.

An employee in this in this Portland, ME-based position can expect a base hourly pay rate of $28.00-$42.00/hr., with certain client project contracts offering a premium rate. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
