LVI Associates is hiring a Senior Environmental Engineer or Geologist in Chicago, IL. The role involves leading environmental site investigations, managing compliance and permitting, and ensuring project quality. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering or Geology, 8-12 years of experience, and preferably a PE or PG license. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are required. This is a full-time position.
Job Description: We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join a team of diverse professionals in the Environmental division as a Senior Environmental Engineer or Geologist. This role involves providing a full range of environmental due diligence services for various clients, including government agencies, land developers, and lending institutions. Our team has extensive experience in conducting environmental assessments at a variety of sites, from undeveloped properties to complex industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and perform environmental site investigations, engineering analysis, and development of plans and specifications.
• Manage Illinois SRP closures, groundwater monitoring, SPCC plans and inspections, UST closures, environmental compliance, and permitting.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Network with clients to identify and define projects, develop proposals, and maintain project quality and risk management.
• Ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Develop practical solutions to help clients achieve and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications:
• BS degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field.
• 8 to 12 years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license (preferred) or ability to obtain.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with leadership capabilities.
• Attention to detail and willingness to occasionally work more than 8 hours per day when necessary.
• Ability to interpret and apply State and Federal technical guidance and regulations.
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain).
