Join our team as a Senior Environmental Economist and contribute to delivering innovative environmental solutions. This role is pivotal within a respected technical team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our reputation for technical excellence across a diverse client portfolio. Location options include Epsom, Bristol, Peterborough, Oxford, Manchester, London, Glasgow, and Birmingham.

You will be part of our Natural Capital team within the Environment practice, working in our Water Management Consultancy. We utilize cutting-edge approaches and proprietary tools to assess the economic impacts of environmental changes at various scales, focusing on issues such as flood risk, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
Our team comprises experts in environmental economics, science, and spatial analysis, committed to innovation and expanding our capabilities. We collaborate across departments to deliver impactful projects for a wide range of clients, including government agencies, utilities, NGOs, and private sector entities.
Responsibilities:
Develop, contribute to, and ensure the quality of projects focused on natural capital and environmental economics.
Support flood risk economic appraisals, business cases, biodiversity net gain, and carbon net zero initiatives.
Stay updated with advancements in natural capital and economic techniques.
Assist in developing digital tools to visualize environmental impacts effectively.
Contribute to business development and ensure successful project and bid delivery.
Manage contributions from junior team members, focusing on technical excellence.
Leverage experience in flood risk management economic appraisals, especially using the Multi-Coloured Manual (MCM) and HM Treasury guidelines.
What We Are Looking For:
An enthusiastic Scientist or Economist, preferably chartered, with proven experience in environmental economics through academic or practical means.
Experience in economic valuation methods supporting decision-making processes.
A relevant degree (e.g., Environmental Economics or Science and Policy) and postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
Chartered status or working towards it is preferred.
Strong project management skills, with experience in winning and leading projects.
