Stantec is hiring a Senior Environmental Consultant for Renewable Energy Projects in Los Angeles, CA. Job Description:
Stantec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced environmental consultant to join our Southern California Ecosystems Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in botany, ecology, and wildlife management, with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in conducting biological resources surveys and preparing technical reports.
We are looking for an exceptional professional who can provide desktop support to project teams during the development, management, and coordination of natural environment components of projects and programs for renewable energy, oil and gas, and other development projects. The successful candidate will assist with field work such as botanical surveys, breeding bird surveys, vegetation community assessments and mapping, and wetland delineation and classification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide input to field teams and guide junior staff to effectively complete tasks
• Assist with the planning and preparation of technical reports
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements
• Develop a working understanding of Stantec's other consulting practice areas
• Support cross-selling of services to existing clients
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in biological resources surveys and technical reporting
• Strong background in botany, ecology, and wildlife management
• Experience with steelhead trout, tidewater goby, and other special-status species is a plus
• Proficient in technical writing and MS Office suite
• Familiarity with GPS and GIS tools is an asset
