Job Description

The New Jersey Clean Energy Jobs Program is seeking a Senior Engineer - HVAC in Newark, NJ. The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and at least 8 years of experience in designing energy-efficient mechanical systems for commercial buildings. Responsibilities include field surveys, engineering calculations, and coordination during construction. Candidates should have knowledge of building codes, AutoCad, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position requiring both field and office work.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a mechanical engineering degree to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in design of energy-efficient mechanical systems for complex high-rise and institutional buildings. Knowledge of building and energy codes and standards for commercial buildings is essential.

Job Responsibilities
• Field surveys
• Preparation of engineering calculations
• Drawings and technical reports for HVAC systems
• Development of conceptual designs and detailed designs for HVAC systems
• Coordination/communication with other disciplines and follow through during construction phase

Qualifications
• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 8 years experience in commercial/institutional buildings, preferably in New Jersey
• In depth knowledge of New Jersey building and energy codes
• Knowledge of AutoCad and Microsoft operating systems
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and balance multiple projects at once
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently and with a team

Relevant Experience
• PE (Preferred)
• LEED AP Credential
• Healthcare Experience
• Knowledge of the building energy audit process

Work Environment

Work in field and in office.

Salary negotiable and commensurate with experience.
