Job Description

Nenni and Associates is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer in Seattle, WA. The role involves advising on energy projects, overseeing project lifecycles, developing optimization plans, managing consultants, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 10+ years of experience, and strong project management skills. Certifications like PE or CEM are preferred. This is a full-time position and not remote.
Responsibilities
• Act as a client-side advisor and owner’s representative for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Oversee and coordinate the full project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, implementation, and commissioning.
• Lead the development of energy optimization plans, integrating audits, assessments, and analytics.
• Manage external consultants, contractors, and vendors, ensuring accountability and performance.
• Develop financial strategies and provide recommendations to achieve client goals, including leveraging incentives and alternative funding models.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and utility companies.
• Provide oversight for project schedules, budgets, and risk management.
• Support clients in navigating permitting and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging energy technologies into project plans.
• Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams and mentor junior team members.

Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in energy, mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years with a focus on project oversight, strategic planning, and leadership.
• Skills:
• Knowledge of HVAC, energy storage, renewable energy, and energy optimization.
• Expertise in energy modeling, fault detection diagnostics, and M&V.
• Strong project management skills, including vendor and stakeholder coordination.
• Financial acumen to evaluate funding options and develop budgets.
• Proficiency in software tools (e.g., Excel, energy analytics platforms).
• Certifications:
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Required: At least one advanced certification (e.g., PE or CEM).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving and decision-making under dynamic conditions.
