About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with strong renewable energy expertise in Solar PV systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) design, testing, and commissioning. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who has direct field experience with commissioning utility-scale or commercial renewable energy systems and can lead technical coordination across internal teams, customers, utilities, third-party commissioning firms, and RDB file engineering support providers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PV system commissioning, a solid understanding of commissioning processes and testing protocols, and the ability to oversee and evaluate third-party commissioning providers. This person must be capable of reviewing test procedures, validating reports, troubleshooting field issues, and preparing comprehensive commissioning documentation for customer review and approval. The candidate must also have working knowledge of PV system software and be able to work with third-party RDB file engineers to help obtain quotes, review contracts, and support the review of engineering drawing packages.

Key Responsibilities
• You will lead and support electrical engineering activities for Solar PV and BESS projects.
• You will oversee and support commissioning activities for renewable energy systems, with preference for hands-on experience in PV system commissioning.
• You will manage and coordinate with third-party commissioning companies to ensure work is performed in accordance with project requirements, utility standards, and customer technical specifications.
• You will review and follow testing procedures established by utilities and customer technical specification sheets.
• You will evaluate and review quotes, proposals, and contracts from third-party firms for site commissioning services, RDB file engineering support, and related technical scope.
• You will review commissioning and testing reports to confirm compliance with project requirements and customer expectations.
• You will interpret third-party testing data and compile findings into clear, summarized reports for customer review and approval.
• You will troubleshoot field issues that arise during the commissioning process and support resolution in a timely manner.
• You will prepare detailed and comprehensive project commissioning reports.
• You will coordinate communication and technical alignment across multiple internal departments, external vendors, utilities, and customers.
• You will support project execution from design through startup, testing, turnover, and final acceptance.

Required Qualifications
• You have aBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• You have a minimum of senior-level experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy industry.
• You have proven experience with Solar PV systems and BESS system design.
• You have strong working knowledge of the commissioning process for renewable energy projects.
• You have hands-on, on-site commissioning experience is required.
• You have experience overseeing and coordinating third-party commissioning firms.
• You have the ability to review technical testing procedures and ensure compliance with utility requirements and customer specifications.
• You have strong ability to review, interpret, and validate third-party commissioning and testing reports.
• You have the ability to consolidate technical findings into customer-facing summary reports.
• You have working knowledge of NEC.
• You have NETA certification preferred, or strong working knowledge of NETA standards.
• You have experience programming or working with RDB files for SEL systems.
• You have the ability to troubleshoot field issues related to commissioning, controls, protection, or testing.
• You have strong technical writing skills with the ability to generate clear, complete engineering and commissioning documentation.
• You have strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• You are a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• You have Direct experience with PV system commissioning strongly preferred.
• You have familiarity with utility interconnection testing and turnover processes.
• You have experience working in fast-paced EPC, developer, or renewable energy project environments.
