Job Description Summary
The Senior EHS Manager will collaborate with the business-level Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to ensure compliance and promote sustainability initiatives at the Repair Operations Center (ROC). They will ensure that all EHS practices are aligned with industry standards and best practices to maintain a safe and healthy working environment. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining the site's environmental strategy, focusing on air quality, climate change, waste management, and water conservation. Additionally, the Senior EHS Manager will provide strategic leadership for site facilities and the Recycling Operation to enhance waste reduction and resource recovery. They will drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
• Create and enforce policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers to ensure adherence to regulatory and program requirements. Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and service operations.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Manage and own the Global Parts Hazardous Shipping Process.
• Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate training sessions to educate employees on EHS practices and emergency procedures.
• Develop and maintain strategies for air quality, climate change, waste management, and water conservation.
• Lead investigations into EHS incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on EHS performance and compliance.
• Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures.
• Oversee the maintenance and safety of site facilities.
• Manage the on-site Recycling Operation to enhance waste reduction and resource recovery.
• Develop and track budgets for EHS, Facilities, and Recycling operations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in EHS practices.
• Foster teamwork and a positive culture across functional areas.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles or driving EHS initiatives within a manufacturing operation.
• In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards, and their application within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor EHS teams, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and OSHA 30.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective EHS programs and strategies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide EHS teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement in EHS practices.
