Ignitely is seeking a Senior Director of Global Structural Design and Packaging Sustainability based in Glendale, AZ. The role involves leading a team to develop innovative and sustainable packaging strategies aligned with the company's goals. Responsibilities include defining packaging roadmaps, managing global teams, ensuring project compliance with quality standards, and collaborating across departments. Candidates should have 15+ years of packaging experience and strong leadership skills.
We are looking to hire a Sr. Director of Global Structural Design and Packaging Sustainability based out of Greater Los Angeles Headquarter office.

Reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, you will support the client's mission to be the most loved global baby lifestyle brand by driving packaging strategies and ensuring brand packaging is developed to support values of quality, creativity, innovation, and sustainability.

You will lead a team of world-class packaging engineers and production designers in the US and Hong Kong to deliver engaging experiences that reduce environmental impact.

Responsibilities include:
• Define and execute a packaging roadmap, development, and brand strategy integration from concept to production, including development, technology, design for manufacturing, cost, and reliability.
• Develop and implement a sustainable packaging strategy aligned with the company's sustainability goals.
• Lead creative packaging design, drive innovative concepts, and improve existing packages.
• Support strategic initiatives by managing development processes and hands-on designing.
• Manage global structural packaging engineers and production designers in the US and Hong Kong.
• Translate marketing recommendations into packaging specifications.
• Collaborate with various teams to align packaging with marketing, messaging, and creative objectives, ensuring efficient processes from manufacturing to assembly.
• Drive innovation by presenting new packaging concepts and technologies.
• Oversee project management to meet engineering requirements and project objectives.
• Ensure projects meet quality, cost, functionality, and manufacturability standards.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to support product innovation.
• Manage process improvements, quality, and packaging variations.
• Establish processes to maintain industry leadership in packaging aesthetics, technology, and function.
• Coordinate with vendors and supply chain to ensure timely and on-budget project completion, managing detailed timelines and production efficiency.
• Ensure packaging complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize package shape and size considering retail constraints and pallet efficiency.
• Prioritize workload to meet project deadlines.
• Lead and support a global team of direct reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 15+ years of packaging experience in consumer products and a BS in Packaging Science or Engineering.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools like ProEngineer, ProSurface, Illustrator; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of management experience.
• Background in polymer science, sustainable and degradable materials, and sourcing programs.
• Deep understanding of marketing and retail environments.
• Broad knowledge of packaging materials and structures.
• Extensive experience with manufacturing processes, machinery, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
