Job Description

LMI is seeking a Senior Climate Risk Assessment Analyst in St. Louis, MO, to provide technical climate science expertise and assess climate risks for strategic planning. Responsibilities include conducting research on climate hazards, managing data, preparing risk assessments, and engaging with federal stakeholders. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field, 5-10 years of experience in climate assessment, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities
• Providing technical climate science expertise across integrated project teams, assessing climate risk in a diverse array of near and long term strategic planning activities including, but not limited to, master planning, facility design, construction, and operations, fleet management, national security, workforce planning, supply chains, and mission critical infrastructure.
• Conducting technical research on a broad range of climate hazards, risks, and risk mitigation strategies as well as environmental and sustainability topics including, but not limited to, sustainable building technologies, energy and water efficiency, climate change adaptation and mitigation, environmental remediation technologies, and analytical methods.
• Compiling, analyzing, and managing large, complex data sets and translating into succinct presentations, reports, and policy recommendations for diverse federal stakeholders.
• Preparing climate adaptation plans and risk assessments and working with subject matter experts to develop well-informed risk mitigation strategies.
• Tracking and assessing impact of climate and environmental policies, procedures, and processes at the federal government, state government, and federal intra-agency level.
• Demonstrating LMI capabilities to current and potential federal clients to support capability and business development goals. Scheduling, managing, and documenting client engagements.

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, chemistry, or other physical science.
• 5-10 years’ experience in climate assessment.
• Experience with and knowledge of Department of Defense operations.
• Demonstrated personal and professional interest and leadership in climate change risk management and a strong ability to translate complex scientific data relevant to a client’s specific mission, portfolio, and / or assets.
• Strong skills in MS Office applications. Advanced analytical abilities in MS Excel required.
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop climate risk solutions including development of decision support frameworks and analytic tools that integrate within existing LMI and / or client systems, processes, and protocols.
• Strong technical reading, writing, and proofreading skills in performing quality assessment / quality control.
• Demonstrated professionalism in client settings, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently. Must be able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and efficiently manage time across multiple tasks.
• Working knowledge of current federal and state climate and environmental policy / regulations.
• Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork and fostering positive communication. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships in LMI’s multidisciplinary environment.
• Availability for travel as required. Limited local travel to client sites in Washington, DC is typical.
