Civil/Structural Engineer - Renewables Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to lead engineering design activities for renewable projects.

This position will report to the Department Manager and offers flexibility in working from our offices in Salt Lake City, Billings, Boise, or Fort Mill, with the option to work from home as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement civil and structural design strategies, including steel performance drawings, fabrication drawings, foundation design, and construction inspection.
• Create and manage project schedules, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and specifications for steel and concrete construction.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines on substation physical design, bus analysis calculations, and results coordination.
• Prepare calculation packages to meet client and code requirements.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and team members.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with Finite Element modeling; Risa3D or STAAD Pro software.
• Steel detailing expertise.
• Experience with foundation analysis design software (LPile).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
• 5-10 years of experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV).
• Able to create independent foundation and structural calculation packages.
• Understanding of ASCE 7 and ASCE MOP 113 loading requirements.
• Basic civil engineering skills.
• AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
