Job Description
Jemena is seeking a Senior Business Analyst in West Melbourne, VIC, to drive change and improve processes. The role involves stakeholder collaboration, mentoring other analysts, and utilizing Agile methodologies to align projects with organizational goals. Candidates should have strong relationship-building skills, experience in strategic planning, and familiarity with business analysis tools. A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in the energy sector are preferred.

Overview of our role
Are you passionate about driving meaningful change and improving the way things work? We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team and help shape the future of our projects.
In this role, you'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, map processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. You'll also guide and mentor other Business Analysts (if needed), ensuring collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team.
Your expertise in project methodologies—such as Agile and Scrum—will be key in delivering successful outcomes while maintaining architectural consistency and usability. You'll help define business problems, gather both business and technical requirements, and create high-level business cases that support strategic decision-making.
Most importantly, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that projects align with our broader organisational goals, making a real impact on both the business and our customers.

A little about you
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively at all levels.
• Ideally, experience in a consulting environment.
• Experience in both strategic planning and hands-on requirements gathering for medium to large-scale projects.
• Proven success in delivering business analysis for complex projects, ideally within the energy or related sectors.
• Skilled in understanding business needs, aligning them with strategic goals, and shaping early-stage project analysis.
• Comfortable working with different project approaches, including Agile, to support feature development and customer journey mapping.
• Supportive mentor and team player, helping colleagues grow while ensuring project milestones are met.
Qualifications / certifications & Skills
• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field, with in-depth Senior Business Analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of organisational structure and operations, with knowledge of areas such as customer innovation, utility metering, revenue, asset management, or construction being highly valued.
• Experience using business analysis tools and frameworks, including process mapping, requirements documentation, and benefits tracking.
• Familiarity with Service Design tools and techniques, such as market research, business model canvas, and prototyping, with hands-on experience being a plus.
