About the position

TRC is seeking a Senior Natural Resources Project Manager to join our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role emphasizes environmental planning and permitting for a variety of projects and clients, particularly in the areas of renewable energy, electric generation and transmission, energy transition, and oil and gas. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide variety of projects including oil and gas pipelines, municipal transportation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy generation and storage projects. The Senior Natural Resources Project Manager will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of key permitting programs to ensure quality and strategic growth plans. This position requires managing and permitting projects at the federal, state, and local levels, authoring technical reports, and consulting with federal and state agencies for project compliance. The candidate will need to effectively coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, and manage projects, budgets, invoicing, and schedules. Adherence to company policies and procedures is essential, along with the ability to handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
• Involved in a wide variety of projects including oil and gas pipelines, municipal transportation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy generation and storage projects.

• Support development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of key permitting programs to support quality and strategic growth plans.

• Manage and permit projects at the federal, state, and local levels.

• Author technical reports.

• Consult with federal and state agencies for project compliance.

• Coordinate field work, direct and support other technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, and manage projects, budgets, invoicing, and schedules.

• Abide by Company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field.
,
• 10 to 12 years of post-degree experience.
,
• Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
,
• Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable federal regulatory agencies, including FERC, USACE, USFWS, and EPA.
,
• Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable state regulatory agencies.
,
• Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills.
,
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
,
• Strong ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials.
,
• Experience managing projects and teams in New Mexico.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree or above in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field.

• Certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS).

• Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB).

• Project Management Professional (PMP).
