About the position

The Senior Associate at the Georgetown Climate Center (GCC) plays a crucial role in advancing nationwide efforts on clean energy and climate mitigation. This position focuses on supporting policymakers at various government levels in developing effective strategies to combat climate change, particularly in areas such as commercial and industrial decarbonization. The Senior Associate will engage with senior officials, lead research projects, and serve as a thought leader in climate policy.

Responsibilities
• Work with government policymakers, Center staff, and external partners to identify and advance opportunities for decarbonization.

• Lead projects involving policy and legal research, analysis, and writing on climate mitigation topics.

• Build relationships of trust with policymakers and stakeholders, representing the Center at events and in media.

• Conduct briefings and facilitate discussions among senior government officials and partners.
,
• Provide mentorship and oversight for junior staff and external partners.
,
• Maintain fluency with recent news and policy developments, identifying opportunities for funding and outreach.

Requirements
• Master's Degree or J.D. (or equivalent work experience)

• A minimum of three years of experience in climate policy and decarbonization or a related field

• Excellent research and communication skills (writing and speaking)
