A forward-thinking architectural firm dedicated to sustainable design is seeking a talented Senior Architectural Designer to join their innovative team in Boise, Idaho, US . This role is pivotal in translating conceptual designs into buildable realities, with a strong emphasis on integrating cutting-edge sustainable technologies and materials. You will lead design development from schematic design through construction documentation, collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and construction teams to ensure the highest standards of design integrity and environmental performance. Responsibilities include developing detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and renderings; performing energy analysis and building performance simulations; and staying abreast of the latest advancements in green building practices and materials. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional design talent, a deep understanding of building science, and a passion for creating environmentally responsible and aesthetically compelling spaces. Strong proficiency in architectural design software, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design development of architectural projects from concept to construction documentation, focusing on sustainable principles. Translate client needs and project requirements into innovative and environmentally responsible design solutions. Produce detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, renderings, and specifications. Conduct building performance analysis and energy modeling to optimize sustainable design strategies. Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers to integrate systems effectively. Research and specify sustainable materials, technologies, and building systems. Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the design and construction phases. Ensure design compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED). Mentor junior designers and contribute to the firm's design culture and knowledge base. Stay current with emerging trends in sustainable architecture and construction technology.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Licensed Architect (RA) or Architect Intern (AI) with a clear path to licensure. Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a significant focus on sustainable projects. Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino). Experience with building performance simulation tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, IES VE). Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building certifications, and materials science. Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead design processes and manage project timelines. Experience with construction documentation and administration. Passion for sustainable design and innovation.
