Senior Analyst - PPA & Energy Market Forecasting

Phillip Riley is seeking a Senior Analyst for PPA & Energy Market Forecasting in Melbourne, VIC. The role involves driving origination efforts for renewable energy agreements, managing bid processes, conducting market analysis, and supporting revenue modeling. Candidates should have 5-6 years of experience in energy markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate with clients. Our client, the local platform of a global developer of renewable energy solutions are active across Wind, Solar and BESS are looking to add a Senior Analyst to the Market analytics team covering Market Analysis as pertaining to PPA and other commercial Agreements and Forecasts. Responsible to:

-Drive origination efforts for new offtake structures within their renewable energy asset pipeline, including PPAs and tolling agreements

.-Provide commercial and analytical support in negotiating key terms and setting pricing, while leading selected origination activities

.-Manage end-to-end bid processes for offtake agreements, ensuring thorough coordination of customer due diligence and documentation

.-Prepare and oversee bids for government tenders, such as the CIS scheme

.-Lead power market analysis to shape their internal market views, engaging with external price forecasters, challenging key assumptions, and defining price curve inputs to support final investment decisions

.-Maintain and manage relationships with advisory firms and forecasting partner

s-Support revenue modelling activities, including PPA pricing and stress-testing merchant revenue assumptions to underpin investment and commercial decisions

Requirements:

5-6 years relevant experience at a Developer or Energy Markets Consultancy.

-Detailed understanding of the Australian energy industry and energy markets including drivers of future outlook and opportunities for offtake/ route to market for our renewables portfolio, considering key market challenges.

- Ability to be client facing and support negotiations with external parties.

- Highly analytical and with the ability to think broadly and challenge assumptions.
