Job Overview: Retrofit Assessor with Solar PV Surveying Experience

Are you looking for flexible, well-paid freelance energy assessor work in the UK?
SERT is hiring qualified Retrofit Assessors with experience in solar PV technical surveys to support national retrofit and home energy efficiency programmes.

If you’re a PAS 2035-trained Retrofit Assessor with solid knowledge of EPCs, building fabric, and energy-saving measures – and confident in conducting solar panel feasibility surveys – we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Pre-Retrofit Assessments in line with PAS 2035 standards
• Complete Whole House Retrofit Assessments across domestic properties
• Carry out Solar PV Surveys (roof pitch, orientation, structure, and electrical setup)
• Upload survey data using a tablet and approved digital tools
• Liaise with scheduling and compliance teams to deliver high-quality service

Essential Skills & Requirements:
• Qualified Retrofit Assessor (PAS 2035 trained)
• Proven experience with solar PV system surveys
• Own vehicle with a full UK driving licence
• Own equipment: tablet and borescope
• Confident in energy performance surveys and retrofit standards
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

Pay Per Retrofit Assessment:
• £120 – Pre-Retrofit Assessment
• £190 – Full Retrofit Assessment
• +£50 – Solar PV Technical Survey Add-On
• Paid weekly | 2–3 assessments per day | Nationwide opportunities available
