Job Description

The Town of Fairfield Conservation Department is hiring seasonal summer workers for 8-10 weeks starting June 2, 2025. Responsibilities include trail maintenance, clearing fallen trees, and planting. Applicants must be 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, and be capable of outdoor work. The position pays $19/hour and requires self-motivation. Applications are due by May 16, 2025.

• Clearing fallen trees
• Repainting trail blazes
• Trail maintenance
• Mowing/weed whacking
• Making and installing wood signs for Town open spaces
• Boardwalk installation/repair
• Planting trees/shrubs
• Removing invasive plant species
• Erosion control projects on trails
• Trash removal
• Knowledge of Town open spaces/trails is a plus
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be capable of working outdoors with and without direct supervision in all weather conditions
• Experience with hand tools, mowing, basic carpentry, planting and yard work/brush clearing is desired

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Workers must be 18 years old
• Must have a valid driver’s license

SCHEDULE
• Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

PAY RANGE
• $19/hour

AFFILIATION
• Non-Bargaining Unit, Seasonal Position
