Scientist for Climate Modeling Development

Columbia University invites applications for a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team in atmospheric physics. We are seeking a talented researcher with a strong background in climate modeling and machine learning, with experience in developing and testing new parameterizations for subgrid atmospheric processes.

The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing, testing, and further developing new machine-learning parameterizations for convection and turbulence, as well as observations-based nudging tendencies in CESM. They will also collaborate with other researchers in the MLInES project to advance our understanding of climate processes and reduce climate model biases.
