School Climate Coaching Specialist
Full Time (210 days)
Position is Open Until Filled
Start Date: On or before September 1, 2024
Reports to: The Assistant Executive Director

EdAdvance is pleased to announce the creation of a School Climate Coaching program to assist building leaders in this work. As part of a dynamic team, this position will focus on increasing social emotional skills in school leaders and staff, developing tiered professional development opportunities for EdAdvance, and providing in-district support for the creation and implementation of school climate plans.

Salary is dependent on school/district leadership experience, level of social emotional skills training, and knowledge of best practices in a school setting. Full-time EdAdvance employee benefits package includes health insurance, life insurance, paid sick and personal time. Position is eligible for TRB contributions.

Major Responsibilities:
• Assist in the creation of short and long-term school climate goals for school leaders.
• Assist school leaders in the implementation of the school climate surveys and interpretation of data.
• Assist in the development and implementation of school climate improvement plans.
• Provide on-going tiered social, emotional skills training to school districts and building leaders.
• Provide in-district school climate coaching for principals, assistant principals, and supervisors.
• Create and provide tiered professional development opportunities that align with EdAdvance and CSDE school climate and SEL goals.
• Assist in the creation of a building-based school climate communication plan.
• Assist in developing school climate committees.
• Identify and utilize EdAdvance and CSDE resources in this work.
• Evaluate and support certified staff as assigned.
• Other duties as determined by the Director of School Climate and Mental Health.
Qualifications:
• Valid CT Certification as a School Administrator (092)
• Experienced building leadership preferred
• Training in Social Emotional Learning
• Background in supporting school leaders in SEL work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and collaborate with school district leaders and staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups.
• Experience in identifying and addressing school climate needs within a school settings.
• Advanced knowledge of Social Emotional Learning standards.
• Experience in working effectively with others to promote change.
