Job Description

Ashland Inc is seeking a Safety and Environmental Manager for their Calvert City, KY plant. The role involves ensuring employee health and safety, conducting risk assessments, and managing compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 10 years of experience in industrial safety, including 5 years in a PSM facility. The position is full-time and requires strong leadership and project management skills.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety and Environmental Manager to join our ISP Chemicals LLC business at our Calvert City, Kentucky plant.

This is a visible and significant role within the Company and the EHSS function. As a Safety and Environmental Manager, you will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for ensuring the Health and Well-being of all employees.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Possessing a thorough knowledge of and ability to effectively utilize methods and tools to conduct risk assessments and process hazard analysis.
• Exhibiting ability to conduct root cause analyses, identify corrective actions, and utilize incident management systems to improve site and employee safety.
• Providing leadership and support to ensure the Health and Well-being of all employees.

You will also be responsible for leading, implementing, and managing all Federal, State, Local, and Ashland Safety, Health and Security regulatory requirements.

This includes all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) programs such as Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Planning (EPA-RMP), OSHA Training, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protection, OSHA Recordkeeping, High Hazard work (Confined Space Entry, Lockout Tag-out, Hot work), Hearing Conservation, Occupational Health and other programs.

To succeed in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health engineering, Industrial Safety and Hygiene or other related technical degree.

You should also have a minimum of 10 years of industrial safety and regulatory experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting, with a minimum of 5 years working at a PSM Facility.

In addition, you should have supervisory or managerial experience and possess skills in project management tools and methods.
