This role involves supporting safety programs, implementing corrective actions, and managing safety initiatives. Responsibilities include first aid provision, incident management, communication with management and outside agencies, compliance training, and maintaining safety records. Candidates should have EHS experience and the ability to work under pressure while adhering to EHS policies.

Job Description

This is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting various Safety programs at the Kinston, NC manufacturing operation. Individual will primarily be responsible for assisting with implementing corrective actions identified through various means to improve the safety environment, as well as the coordination of various other safety initiatives. individual must be able to communicate with all levels of the facility. The successful candidate for this position must be able to administer policies and procedures in accordance with established local, state and federal requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide first Aid, CPR, AED as needed.
• Maintenance of first aid supplies and equipment( first aid room, first aid bags, AED, etc.)
• Incident management per the Kinston I.E.R.P.(fire alarm activation, severe weather incidents, spills, etc.)
• Communicate with facility management & leadership(Kinston Daily Safety Incident Report, completing daily management board in auditorium, safety board in Safety Tech office, reporting of incidents, safety related email, etc.)
• Communicate with EHS leadership(to include emailing of pertinent safety related information)
• Communicate with outside agencies( Fire dept, EMS, Police, etc.)
• Management and maintenance of Plant Safety Records and files(physical and digital).
• Compliance Training of personnel in DOJO
• Other Safety related trainings as needed.
• Organization and facilitation of the facility safety committee
• Enter and complete work orders into D7i system (Safety Work Orders)
• Behavior based safety participation(observations, audits, inspections).
• Safety and environmental audits/inspections( Always Aware Huddle,6S, fire prevention, eyewash, stormwater, spill prevention, air permit inspections, machine guarding, etc.)
• Manage, create, document, and file lockout lock documentation and distribute locks
• Update Lockout Training dates / Testing / Scoring
• Safety Team and Ergo Team Meeting notes and records.
• Lock-out Placard Development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Assistance with incident follow-up and root cause investigations.
• Continuous improvement / Kaizen events.
• ProcessMap/OPUS entry of Safety and Environmental Data (uploading docs)
• Weekly safety talks and (safety standdowns as needed).
• Contractor safety program including gatefeed.
• Haz Waste & RCRA, DOT related training and activities.
• Other duties/tasks as required.

Qualifications
• Prior experience with EHS or similar work history
• Able to work calmly under pressure or intense situations
• Strict adherence to established EHS policies
• Ability to address violations of EHS policies
• Attention to detail and organized
• Self-directed and able to accomplish work in a timely manner
