DOMINION AGRO AND BUSINESS ENT. is seeking a qualified Safety Officer for locations in Nairobi, Coast, Nyanza, and Central Kenya. The role involves ensuring workplace health and safety, implementing safety programs, conducting training, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities include advising on safety topics, organizing meetings, and documenting safety practices. The position is full-time or contractor, with no specific degree required.
We are looking to employ a qualified and competent Safety Officer responsible for the health and safety of staff in the workplace. The safety officer will compile safety programs, standardise them to remain consistent, and share best practice techniques at regular staff meetings. Candidates should be updated with the latest trends in health and safety, and these practices should be consistently implemented in the workplace. Ultimately, the candidate should be able to maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every staff member complies with the regulated standards.

Responsibilities :
• Compile safety programs.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.).
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
• Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
• Initiate and organise OHS training of employees and executives.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.
• Standardise health and safety to remain consistent.
• Identify hazardous waste and dispose of it correctly.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
• Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance.
• Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management.
• Review existing policies and measures and update them according to legislation.
