Job Description
The State of California is hiring a Senior Hydroelectric Plant Operator to oversee Delta Field Division operations, coordinate with dispatchers, and ensure compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include monitoring operations, attending certification classes, and working rotating shifts. About the position
Under direction of the Chief Hydroelectric Plant Operator, the Senior Hydroelectric Plant Operator will monitor, direct, coordinate with the dispatchers and local maintenance forces, and Project Operation Control Center, the overall operations of Delta Field Division. Responsibilities
• Monitor and direct the overall operations of Delta Field Division.
,
• Coordinate with dispatchers and local maintenance forces.
,
• Ensure compliance with State Water Project regulations.
,
• Attend the Division's OP-2 class and be certified as a worker and/or switch person.
,
• Work rotating shifts with varying days off and overtime as required.
Requirements
• Ability to open/close tight valves and operate/move rack in breakers.
,
• Mobility and stamina to climb ladders and stairs and operate computers.
,
• Must possess normal or corrected hearing and vision.
,
• Valid California Driver's License required.
,
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience directing operators with daily duties & assignments.
,
• Experience directing and performing high voltage switching (NFPA 70E or equivalent).
,
• Experience monitoring and operating digital process control systems such as SCADA.
,
• Knowledge of Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) and Operating Safety Procedures.
,
• Experience overseeing inspections of semi-attended plants & reservoirs facilities.
