S&O Associate, Environmental Sustainability

The Public Policy and Social Impact Team helps Dashers, local businesses, and cities thrive by advancing the future of work, supporting small businesses through partnerships and programs, and promoting environmental sustainability via the DoorDash platform. This role contributes to building our environmental sustainability strategy across transportation and logistics, take-out packaging, clean energy, and carbon emissions measurement and reductions. You will work on projects that test, measure, and address DoorDash’s climate impact, with the goal of improving outcomes for merchants, Dashers, customers, and our business.

You will develop and test hypotheses, operate pilots and processes, and serve as the team’s point person for data and analytics across sustainability projects. You will report into the Social Impact and Sustainability team within the Public Policy organization.

Responsibilities
• Develop and test hypotheses related to environmental sustainability initiatives.
• Design and run pilots and processes to measure climate impact and its effects on merchants, Dashers, customers, and the business.
• Analyze data to inform data-driven decisions and improve sustainability outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently as needed.

Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience in operations, consulting, strategy, financial services, product operations, or related fields. High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
• Intermediate analytics skills (e.g., SQL, Excel, data platforms like Sigma). Strong understanding of concepts and syntax; able to tackle new problems confidently.
• Knowledge of the environmental sector; direct experience not required.
• Structured problem-solving ability: analyze and synthesize data, make informed decisions, and balance logic with empathy.
• Proactive and action-oriented; willing to try new approaches to achieve goals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the posted range, determined by job-related factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized to the employee’s work location. In addition to base salary, there are opportunities for equity grants. See the recruiter for more information.
