Job Description
The Fair Lending Compliance Specialist will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential fair lending risk in the consumer banking space. This includes analyzing data, working with business partners to drive meaningful reductions in compliance risk, and executing monitoring or testing activities to identify impacts of bank policies on certain populations.
This role requires a strong understanding of fair lending laws and regulations, including ECOA/Reg B, FHA, SCRA, FCRA, and FDCPA. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and/or supporting enterprise-wide risk or compliance programs, as well as a working knowledge of technical and nuanced aspects of fair banking laws.
In addition to compliance expertise, this role requires excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex topics and recommendations through written, verbal, and listening channels. Strong computer proficiency is also necessary, particularly in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing data and reporting, performing analysis, and bringing valuable business insights through evaluation or monitoring of data related to risk and control management strategies. They will also be expected to draft clear and concise reports of ongoing monitoring and assessment projects, communicating results to Risk and Business management.
