At EnergyAustralia we are undertaking a Regulatory Compliance Uplift Project, designed to strengthen compliance frameworks, uplift risk management capabilities, and ensure adherence to regulatory obligations across our business. We are seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Lead for 12 months to oversee and drive the implementation of compliance enhancements, working across multiple business units.
About the Role
As a Risk and Compliance Lead you will be responsible for the following:
• Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Regulatory Compliance Uplift Project deliverables relating to end-to-end compliance processes.
• Provide support to the project to design and refine compliance frameworks, risk controls, and governance structures to align with regulatory obligations and best practices.
• Work collaboratively with external providers to test obligations and controls within end to end business processes
• Work collaboratively with business unit leaders (specifically Customer), risk, legal, and regulatory teams to embed compliance improvements.
• Identify and assess compliance risks, providing recommendations to mitigate and manage them.
• Establish robust reporting mechanisms and dashboards to track project progress and compliance metrics.
• Conduct risk and compliance training to enhance awareness and accountability across EnergyAustralia.
• Provide expert advice on compliance policies, processes, and tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide expertise to the project team on risk and compliance matters impacting the organisation’s ability to comply with regulations.
How can you support the Clean Energy Transition
• Proven experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, or governance, ideally within the energy, utilities, or financial services sectors.
• Strong understanding of Australian energy regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage compliance projects, including stakeholder engagement and change management.
• Experience working with regulators such as the AER, AEMC, and Essential Services Commission is highly desirable.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and business leaders.
• Proficiency in compliance tools, risk assessment methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
