Job Description
The State of Oregon is hiring a Resilience Plan Coordinator to develop a statewide Resilience Plan, connecting state agencies and community organizations to enhance disaster resilience. Responsibilities include onboarding partners, providing training, and monitoring engagement systems. Candidates need a relevant Bachelor's degree and two years of program coordination experience. This is a full-time, limited duration position expected to last until December 31, 2026, with benefits including health insurance.
About the position
Help build a more resilient Oregon for all! This position will coordinate development of a statewide Plan for a Resilient Oregon. This Plan will connect the interests and missions of multiple state agencies and community-based organizations to create a strategy for Oregon's disaster resilience. Working with a Resilience Plan Manager in the Office of the Governor, the coordinator will help onboard community partners, provide training and technical assistance to participants and create and monitor systems to track engagement and advance plan development. They will also work directly with community partners to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed; respond to requests for information about the work; occasionally represent the work in public meetings and events. This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before December 31, 2026. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Planning or Natural Resources Management, or a degree related to resilience planning.
,
• Two years' experience coordinating or administering a program.
,
• Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience working with disaster survivors or in communities that experience disparate impacts of disasters.

• Trauma-informed approach to work.
,
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for and advance inclusion and equity.
,
• Interest or knowledge of environmental justice, climate adaptation, and/or resilience planning.
,
• Knowledge of business principles and practices like planning work, allocating time, paying for goods and services, and coordinating schedules.
,
• Good listener, clear verbal communications.
,
• Able to help people meet administrative requirements without shaming them for prior non-compliance.
,
• Experience with community organizing and/or event organizing.
,
• Tact and discretion.
,
• Experience working with federal grants and procurement.
