About the Position

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency. The selected applicant must be able to work onsite and have a Master's degree in a relevant science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline plus 1 or more years of relevant scientific and/or engineering experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 or more years of relevant scientific and/or engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Key Responsibilities
<br><br>• Oversee activities related to electrochemical energy storage in the Power Sources Technology Group<br>• Develop and implement plans to improve group and capability operations<br>• Coordinate specific deliverables, research objectives, project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, testing priorities, and staffing requirements<br>• Direct work rooted in the fundamentals of science and engineering, requiring a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles<br>• Contribute to the execution of Sandia's scientific programs from fundamental research through development and qualification of electrochemical energy storage technologies<br>• Manage personnel conducting daily operations of the Battery Test Facility, Agile Facility, and Battery Abuse Testing Laboratory<br>• Engage engineers and technologists to deliver on multidisciplinary programs<br>• Serve as a representative for Power Sources, representing our work to customers and stakeholders<br>• Apply engineering methods to develop or demonstrate new designs, machines, products, and processes<br>• Provide leadership for ensuring hardware, experiments, and safety expectations are met<br>• Cultivate and build strategic partnerships with diverse customers across the laboratory and sister National Labs<br>• Perform performance reviews and team evaluations<br>• Lead team in updating and configuring PHS, OP's, and Work Planning & control WP&C documentation<br>• Ensure work acceptance, cost estimations, procurements, planning of large projects, engineering support, customer interface, work schedules to customers Security, Safety, Quality requirements\
