Job Description

North Carolina A&T State University seeks a Research Technology Analyst for Engineering Computing to serve as a liaison between faculty and IT staff. The role involves translating faculty research needs into IT solutions, collaborating on technologies like HPC and IoT. Candidates should have a Master's degree and relevant experience, with a focus on diversity and inclusion in the College of Engineering. This position is on-site.

Primary Purpose of Position

The Research Technology Analyst for Engineering Computing serves as a critical liaison between faculty and IT staff within the College of Engineering.

This role is responsible for identifying, documenting, and translating faculty research and instructional computing needs into actionable requirements for IT solutions.

The Research technology Analyst will collaborate with faculty across diverse engineering disciplines, ensuring their computing needs are met in areas such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), networking, storage, IoT, Linux, Windows, and other relevant technologies.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree and two years of experience in operations analysis and design, business analyst, and systems programming or a bachelor's degree and four years of experience in operations analysis and design, business analyst, and systems programming.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business analyst or related role, preferably in an academic or research environment.
• Experience in understanding and documenting requirements for IT solutions in grant-funded research projects.
• Familiarity with HPC, networking, storage, and IoT technologies.
• Able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
