Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This position will have a motivated and enthusiastic person join a new facility supplying local and national laboratories and institutions with mosquitoes infected with nonpathogenic strains of malaria. The position will provide opportunities for working with host-parasite interactions in two different animal models in collaboration with researchers from diverse backgrounds. This position will be expected to maintain the parasite’s life cycle primarily in mosquitoes but should also be willing to work with mice. Duties may evolve based on demand and/or the candidate’s abilities and willingness. Initially the job will be offered for 6 months with any extension contingent upon performance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Should have experience handling and manipulating mosquitoes with education in animal science or a related field. A demonstrated ability to organize and collaborate with other personnel towards a common goal is an added quality.
