Job Description

The University of Western Australia is seeking a full-time Research Fellow in Agriculture and Environment for a five-month fixed-term position in Crawley, WV. • Collaborate with scientists, experts and managers, both locally and nationally and build relationships with government and industry partners
• Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for five months.
• Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 - $134,824 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy (CEEP) is housed within the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment. It aims to improve the cost-effectiveness of Australia's policy programs for land, water and biodiversity conservation. Through economic research and state-of-the-art modelling that integrates biological, physical and socio-economic information, the work of the Centre assists Australia's environmental managers and policy makers to invest more efficiently in environmental outcomes. Its staff are renowned internationally for their expertise in environmental economics, natural resource management, bio-economic modelling, agricultural economics and policy analysis.

About the opportunity
• Undertake collaborative research to generate research outputs of high impact
• Communicate research findings through scientific publications, reports, meetings and where possible, teaching and research supervision of PhD candidates
• Engage with a network of contacts with local, national and international universities for the purposes of research collaboration and the enhancement of the reputation of the Centre, School and the University
• When possible, actively seek and attract funding for new research opportunities

About you
• PhD qualification, or working towards, in environmental or agricultural economics
• Demonstrated personal commitment to scholarly research, as evidenced by relevant publications and/or scientific reports
• Demonstrable emerging track record of successful competitive funding application
• Demonstrated knowledge of micro-economics and modelling techniques, survey methods data analysis and econometrics, and discrete choice experiment techniques.
• Experience in the application of Stata, R and other programs.
