Job Description Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:Under minimal supervision, perform routine and non-routine field research and collection, reporting, and analysis of data.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under minimal supervision as performing routine and non-routine field research and collection and reporting of data.Assist in performing field research and collection, reporting, and analysis of data.Handle and maintain technical field instruments (e.g., scopes and binocular equipment, field collection of biological samples) required for completing field research work.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform other routine duties as required.LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management, Geographic Information System (GIS) and spreadsheet software.____________________________________________________________________________________________ALL REQUIREMENTS ARE SUBJECT TO POSSIBLE MODIFICATION TO REASONABLY ACCOMMODATE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED:1. Bachelor’s degree in environmental or wildlife science (e.g., Wildlife & Conservation Biology, Environmental Science & Management).2. Minimum of three years of experience in environmental or wildlife science field surveys and data collection.3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.5. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.6. Demonstrated ability to identify coastal waterbird species.

Preferred Qualifications

Environmental Conditions
This position will require regular field visits to aquaculture sites, and will involve exposure to insects, poison ivy and inclement weather.
